After the torrential downpour Friday morning, Ann Hooper, her friend Regina, and I took a bus to go to Obuisi where I would see my first Ghanaian wedding. Obuisi is a mining town south of Kumasi, and would normally be a 3 hour bus ride from Cape Coast. Read the rest of this entry »

As I was walking out of the guesthouse on my usual route to the main road to town, I greeted a guy who was working in the field with the usual good morning. He initially greeted me as well, and as I took a couple of steps to take a picture of some scenery, he yelled over: “Hey, take a picture of me.” So when I turned back to him. he proclaimed “This is my farm!
