I’ve always wanted to do what Stella Choe does in this video. This is for all the Asian-Americans who have been asked “Where are you really from”?”
Just like 26.5 million other Americans, I live in a food desert, South Central Los Angeles, home of the drive-thru and the drive-by. Funny thing is, the drive-thrus are killing more people than the drive-bys. People are dying from curable diseases in South Central Los Angeles. For instance, the obesity rate in my neighborhood is five times higher than, say, Beverly Hills, which is probably eight, 10 miles away.
Thanks, Will, for sharing this TED talk with me.
Jane Goodall, anthropologist extraordinaire, started a program in Tanzania in 1991 educating youths “environmental issues and humanitarian values with a special focus on group interaction” called Roots and Shoots. Starting with those 16 students, she built this organization into a global network with 8,000 groups in 100 countries; in China, there are offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanchang, and Chengdu.

J’en ai marre de vos bonnes manières, c’est trop pour moi !
Moi je mange avec les mains et j’suis comme ça !
J’parle fort et je suis franche, excusez moi !
Finie l’hypocrisie moi j’me casse de là !
I found this video after a student posted a video of a molecular gastronomy restaurant opening – this was the soundtrack.
