Having finished with my work for the day (after meeting with the manager of a woman’s credit cooperative and the director of a planned parenthood office), the owner of the guesthouse where I am staying took me to another of her guesthouses that’s further outside the city environment of Cape Coast; the guesthouse is about a 20 minute drive east towards Accra in a small fishing village called Biriwa. While there are beach resorts on either side of Biriwa, the village itself still relies on its fishing.
Nothing really to report about Biriwa – I was just taken in again by the beautiful ocean view from the patios of the Fairhill Guesthouse in Biriwa, the ocean breeze that cooled down the heat of the Ghanaian sun, and the sound of the singing from the afternoon church service just downhill from the guesthouse. I’ll be heading there again tomorrow, to see the arrangements for a community-based learning service company for a group from an American university. Enjoy the view!
