This is a classic case of do what I say, not as I did. I’ve been slipping in various GTD (“getting things done”) tricks in my classes as often as I can without making it seem that the class is really called “The Anthropology of Getting Things Done.”
Back in the day, I was not the best college student. Part of it of course was the average maturity rate among boys, but I feel that a good part of it was not being organized enough to see what needed to be done.
Save yourself from heartache – take a look at Lifehacker’s post “Getting Things Done Explained for Students”. OK, I know your eyes are glazing over (as I’ve often seen from the front of the classroom), either with contempt or pity. But give it a try!
