Most of my updates this summer will be on the group site, ghana.davidson.edu, but I thought I should add some pictures here that show that the trip hasn’t all been hard work!
Today I went into Accra to pick up Prof. Helen Cho, the next resident director for the program, so that she can orient herself to Ghana and experience the program itself. For the students in the group, there was first a lecture on contemporary Ghanaian politics, and their dancing/drumming class in the afternoon.
Yes, Andrew Ma does look pretty intense (he’s writing the entry for today’s group report), but the seamstress came back with the outfits that she had finished. Rebecca is in the back, trying her new outfit, and getting help with her headscarf from Aria.
Brittany seems to be buying all the cloth in Cape Coast for her outfits. Here is one that she is modeling for the camera.
Homestays this weekend – should be a quiet guesthouse with everyone scattered in people’s homes.
